At Tohshin, as an organization, we promote health awareness which in turn will lead to employees living a healthy lifestyle.
We will respond to the needs of diverse employees as much as possible.
Since its founding in 1956, Tohshin Group has upheld the principle of “extended familyism,” and for almost 70 years has strived to create an environment in which employees are both physically and mentally healthy and can work with peace of mind.
Employee health is the foundation of company management, and without its maintenance and improvement, sustainable development is impossible. Guided by this conviction, in 2011, we introduced health guidance in addition to a health management program. In 2017, we welcomed an occupational health nurse to promote enhanced health literacy from a professional perspective and meticulous follow-up based on health examination results.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we collaborated with local businesses, medical institutions, and government agencies to implement workplace vaccinations on three separate occasions. In 2022, we established a new executive officer position dedicated to health and productivity management. We expanded our activities to include renovating the employee cafeteria, initiatives for mental health, hosting women's health seminars, and presenting at academic conferences. As a result, the three companies of Tohshin Group have been recognized consecutively for three years starting in 2023 among the top 500 companies (“Bright 500”) nationwide in the list of Certified Health and Productivity Management Organizations (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Division).
Starting in the fiscal year of 2023, we implemented organizational restructuring and transitioned to a management framework centered on “Sound Management, Long-Term Trust, and Social Presence.” Sound Management encompasses “Safety First, Health & Productivity Management, and Sound Financials.” In the fiscal year of 2025, we established a new Management Strategy Department. With this department joining the Health & Productivity Management Promotion Team, we are expanding our initiatives globally, including newly implementing health management at our group company in Suzhou, China.
Tohshin Group’s principal philosophy is to “pursue physical and spiritual well-being of all employees and through our joint efforts contribute to the development of humanity and society.” When putting this philosophy into practice, investing in and working on the health of our employees is an important issue and we will continue to grow as a healthy company and aim to improve the well-being of employees and their families as well as our contribution to society. This is something we hope to achieve with the strength of all our employees.
